Can anybody comment and share hers/his ideas on the use of automated step plant testing software in general, and in particular on the use of Aspen’s SmartTest?
To clarify: I’m not familiar at all with this software. As I understand one of the benefits of this new tool is that it reduces supervision needed during the plant test period.
During the plant test period one thing, which may be important, is to try to identify, in real time, unmeasured disturbances. Under this category one can find every thing that happens in the plant and is not being collected as data in the collection list. How can a software tool deal with that?
There are more issues regarding the automated testing ( correlated moves? closed loop identification? etc.... )and it will be intersting to hear more viewpoints on this issue.
